Help with finding Islamic stores

Asalaamualikum,

I am Muslim living in the UK so I have little knowledge about the different shops that sell Islamic products outside of the UK. If anyone can help me by giving me the name and location of their Islamic shops (both physical shops and online) they frequent, it would be most appreciated. :)

Jazakhallah for your help.

Is it will be right to do my Self?

As Salaam Alaykum. This thread is intended mostly as reminder for myself I hope Inshallah that others will also derive benefit, and contribute with their thoughts on self reformation.

A man was on his death bed, Someone asked him to give some wise counsel before he departed, the world he Said.

" When I was young I wanted to change the world and solve its problems, As I got older I realized that perhaps I should lower my sights, I thought I would be better served in changing my country as time went on I realized that people of country could not be changed. I decided to change the people of my town , but they also did not wish to change, When I reached my old age I thought I would try changing my Family, here also I found my endeavors go to waste, try as I might my family members would not change.

" Now that I am on my death bed, I have realized that if I had sought to improve myself, and removed my own defects, then perhaps my family members would have been influenced. Then seeing the behavior of my family people of my town would have been influenced. By seeing the spiritual change and improvement of the people of my town, the people of my country would have been influenced. And perhaps through the people of my country the world may have been influenced."
* Source Unknown.

I wish to change the world but I find it near impossible, to change myself.

MaY Allah give us all the Tawfiq to improve our own behavior and conduct and a sinner like me in particular, ameen.

P.s I humbly request that you please, remember me in your duas.Islam is real quite of life.

If you can change you communicating with the Al Qur’an it will

Be helpful to all.And that will help you to establish peace and Islam

	In the whole world.

	Ameen

How to make your Wife happy ?

The following is a summary of the book "How to make your wife happy by Sheikh Mohammed Abdelhaleem Hamed.

Beautiful Reception

After returning from work, school, travel, or whatever has separated you:

Begin with a good greeting.
Start with Assalamau 'Aliaykum and a smile. Salam is a sunnah and a du'aa for her as well.
Shake her hand and leave bad news for later!
Sweet Speech and Enchanting Invitations
Choose words that are positive and avoid negative ones.
Give her your attention when you speak of she speaks.
Speak with clarity and repeat words if necessary until she understands.
Call her with the nice names that she likes, e.g. my sweet-heart, honey, saaliha, etc.

Friendliness and Recreation
Spend time talking together.
Spread to her goods news.
Remember your good memories together.
Games and Distractions
Joking around & having a sense of humor.
Playing and competing with each other in sports or whatever.
Taking her to watch permissible (halal) types of entertainment.
Avoiding prohibited (haram) things in your choices of entertainment.

Assistance in the Household
Doing what you as an individual can/like to do that helps out, especially if she is sick or tired.
The most important thing is making it obvious that he appreciates her hard work.

Consultation (Shurah)
Specifically in family matters.
Giving her the feeling that her opinion is important to you.
Studying her opinion carefully.
Be willing to change an opinion for hers if it is better.
Thanking her for helping him with her opinions.

Visiting Others
Choosing well raised people to build relations with. There is a great reward in visiting relatives and pious people. (Not in wasting time while visiting!)
Pay attention to ensure Islamic manners during visits.
Not forcing her to visit whom she does not feel comfortable with.

Conduct During Travel
Offer a warm farewell and good advice.
Ask her to pray for him.
Ask pious relatives and friends to take care of the family in your absence.
Give her enough money for what she might need.
Try to stay in touch with her whether by phone, e-mail, letters, etc..
Return as soon as possible.
Bring her a gift!
Avoid returning at an unexpected time or at night.
Take her with you if possible.

Financial Support
The husband needs to be generous within his financial capabilities. He should not be a miser with his money (nor wasteful).
He gets rewards for all what he spends on her sustenance even for a small piece of bread that he feeds her by his hand (hadeith).
He is strongly encouraged to give to her before she asks him.

Smelling Good and Physical Beautification
Following the Sunnah in removing hair from the groin and underarms.
Always being clean and neat.
Put on perfume for her.

Intercourse
It is obligatory to do it habitually if you have no excuse (sickness, etc.)
Start with "Bismillah" and the authentic du'a.
Enter into her in the proper place only (not the anus).
Begin with foreplay including words of love.
Continue until you have satisfied her desire.
Relax and joke around afterwards.
Avoid intercourse during the monthly period because it haram
Do what you can to avoid damaging her level of Hiyaa (shyness and modesty) such as taking your clothes together instead of asking her to do it first while he is looking on.
Avoid positions during intercourse that may harm her such as putting pressure on her chest and blocking her breath, especially if you are heavy.
Choose suitable times for intercourse and be considerate as sometimes she maybe sick or exhausted.

Guarding Privacy
Avoid disclosing private information such as bedroom secrets, her personal problems and other private matters.

Aiding in the Obedience to Allah
Wake her up in the last third of the night to pray "Qiyam-ul-Layl" (extra prayer done at night with long sujood and ruku'ua).
Teach her what you know of the Qur'an and its tafseer.
Teach her "Dhikr" (ways to remember Allah by the example of the prophet) in the morning and evening.
Encourage her to spend money for the sake of Allah such as in a charity sale.
Take her to Hajj and Umrah when you can afford to do so.
Showing Respect for her Family and Friends
Take her to visit her family and relatives, especially her parents.
Invite them to visit her and welcome them.
Give them presents on special occasions.
Help them when needed with money, effort, etc..
Keep good relations with her family after her death if she dies first. Also in this case the husband is encouraged to follow the sunnah and keep giving what she used to give in her life to her friends and family.

(Islamic) Training & Admonition

This includes:

The basics of Islam
Her duties and rights
Reading and writing
Encouraging her to attend lessons and halaqahs
Islamic rules (ahkam) related to women
Buying Islamic books and tapes for the home library

Admirable Jealousy
Ensure she is wearing proper hijab before leaving house.
Restrict free mixing with non-mahram men.

Avoiding excess jealousy.
Examples of this are:
1- Analyzing every word and sentence she says and overloading her speech by meanings that she did not mean
2- Preventing her from going out of the house when the reasons are just.
3- Preventing her from answering the phone.

Patience and Mildness
Problems are expected in every marriage so this is normal. What is wrong is excessive responses and magnifying problems until a marital breakdown.
Anger should be shown when she exceeds the boundaries of Allah SWT, by delaying prayers, backbiting, watching prohibited scenes on TV, etc..
Forgive the mistakes she does to you.

Correcting her Mistakes
First, implicit and explicit advice several times.
Then by turning your back to her in bed (displaying your feelings). Note that this does not include leaving the bedroom to another room, leaving the house to another place, or not talking with her.
The last solution is lightly hitting (when allowable) her. In this case, the husband should consider the following:
He should know that sunnah is to avoid beating as the Prophet PBUH never beat a woman or a servant.
He should do it only in extreme cases of disobedience, e.g. refusing intercourse without cause frequently, constantly not praying on time, leaving the house for long periods of time without permission nor refusing to tell him where she had been, etc..
It should not be done except after having turned from her bed and discussing the matter with her as mentioned in Qur'an .
He should not hit her hard injuring her, or hit her on her face or on sensitive parts of her body.
He should avoid shaming her such as by hitting her with a shoe, etc.

Would a Muslim claiming to be Christian constitute denial of the prophet?

Many claim that president Obama is a Muslim. He claims to be Christian. If he were to be Muslim, would this not constitue denial of the prophet? Would this not be strictly forbidden by the Muslim faith? I would not be bothered either way but I take him at his word.

can a woman stay in idda in the same house with the divorced husband?

My question is: If someone got divorced, can the divorced wife do the idda in the same apartment together with the husband she divorced? Can she go back to her parents house and do the idda at her parents' house even though the parents are not Muslim? How long is the idda in the case of divorce? Can the woman travel or go out of the house anytime she wants while she is in idda?

She's pretty nice and she's always helped me out a great deal. And we always breeze by each other in the gym at my college. My college's fitness center also has a mat room or a room wrestling/kickboxing etc. Do you think it would be strage of me to ask her to wrestle> I mean afterall she is pretty fit for a women who's in her 40's and we are pretty comfortable with each other. Do you think I should ask or no? Or would it be offensive to her religious beliefs?

what do you Think about Qortoba Institute for arabic studies ?

QortobaInstituteforArabicStudies(QIAS)invites you to study the distinctive language of Arabic in the heart of one of the most culturally vibrant and diverse cities of Egypt: Alexandria (Al-Askandariyyah). And also amazing branch in Cairo as well .

QIAS has been established with the aim of teaching Modern Standard Arabic (Fus'ha) to students world-wide. Through both our on-site and distance learning programs, we are able to accomodate students globally, with a focus on teaching students from non-Arabic speaking countries.

The QIAS method is to teach classical Arabic by solely utilizing the Arabic language in the classroom. We have found this to be the best technique for gaining a complete understanding of words and phrases, as well as developing our students' conversational and written skills.

AtQIAS, we believe that a third of learning Arabic depends on your teacher. We have spared no effort in acquiring and training our teachers to a very high standard. We understand that having knowledge of a thing does not mean that one can teach, so we have developed a training period that only the most committed teachers can pass. We also require our teachers to have a degree in the Arabic language itself and also in an Islamic science. Our teachers are not only selected for their knowledge, but also for their interpersonal skills. Our teachers are Qortoba. If our teachers fail, then we fail.

The Arabic language is the key to a treasure-trove of knowledge, the gateway to an ancient and rich civilization. For Muslims, it is the bedrock of a comprehensive understanding and application of divine revelation.

Study at QIAS and gain access to all of the above and more

Am I muslim?

Hello

I am a "non-muslim". I was raised Christian, but not strictly. I never believed in the divinity of Jusus nor believed that he was the son of God. I also believe that there is only one God and I believe that Muhammed was his prophet. I want to know if this makes me a muslim?

When I have researched about Islam it says that the only requirment to be muslim is to believe in the uniqueness and oneness of God and to believe that Muhammed was his prophet. I aslo think that I follow most of the guidelines set out in the Qur'an. For example, I don't like eating pork and I don't drink alcohol.

In the question, "What do muslims believe?" there is an answer saying, "Muslims believe in One Unique, Incomparable God; in the Angels created by Him; in the prophets through whom His revelations were brought to mankind; in the Day of Judgment and individual accountability for actions; in God's complete authority over human destiny and in life after death. Muslims believe in a chain of prophets starting with Adam and including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus, peace be upon them. But God's final message to man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message and a summing-up of all that has gone before was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through Gabriel."

I believe this too! Does this make me muslim? If it does do I have to now follow all the other rules set out by the Qur'an? Sould I convert (or revert as some prefer to say)?

Please help.

Why is QBB classified as animal shortening in UAE but as butterfat in Mauritius?

The following comment which was noted and translated from an Arabic website, gives us a deeper insight about the issue of whether QBB Ghee sold in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei actually constitutes of pig lard.

According to the following websites:
1) http://archive.gulfnews.com/articles/08/07/03/10225548.html and
2) http://www.dubaicityguide.com/site/business-finance/data/Eng.%20%20Price%20List%20Group%202%20on%20May%2020092.xls.
3) http://www.economy.ae/English/Consumers/PricesAndMarketResearch/Pages/WeeklyPricereport.aspx
4) http://www.economy.ae/Documents/Thirds%20Group.pdf;

QBB is sold as Animal Shortening in various supermarket outlets in the United Arab Emirates. Further QBB is marked as a product of Singapore. Why? Is it because:
 It is being produced under the licence of QBB Pte. Ltd., Singapore.
 It is actually packed in a factory located in Singapore
 It is shipped from Singapore

So far QBB Pte Ltd., Singapore only acknowledges that there its factory is located in Shah Alam, Malaysia.

As far as product classification is concerned, UAE’s classification is indeed credible. Mind you, the Ministry of Economy, United Arab Emirates has one of the best food labelling enforcement in Asia. Every time a food consignment is received at their ports, a random sample is taken and sent to government labs to determine its actual content.

From the website: http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Animal+Shortening, we know that animal shortening is defined as lard (lahrd) purified internal fat of the abdomen of the hog or commercially retrieved pig fat.
And according to the Malaysian website: http://produkhalal.wordpress.com/2007/09/08/list-of-non-halal/,
Animal Shortening is defined as type of fat such as lard that is solid at room temperature, and is used for making pastry and is a non-halal product.
Why is then QBB still being categorised in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei as halal and sold as pure butterfat ghee when in the Arab world they had changed its labelling to animal shortening somewhere in 2006/2007 and classified it as non-halal once QBB’s production was shifted from Australia supposedly to Malaysia. Therefore in which region is it being labelled correctly and in which region is it being misrepresented to its consumers?

Is Nandos / KFC / Subway Halal Meat really Haram to eat?

This has baffled me for a long time now, many muslims tell me that Nandos/KFC/Subway do not slaughter their animals according to islamic law, instead they electrocute the animals.

Nandos and KFC claimed to have HFA certificates while Subway has something to do with the Islamic Foundation of Ireland (I.F.I.)

I don't know this for sure, but I've avoided going to the above mentioned since then, anyone have any info on this? shukran

Dear Madam
We wish to inform your goodself that for years, our consumer group as many other faithful consumers have been using “QQB” Ghee for various delicacies and religious functions without doubt, with full confidence that the said product is manufactured from the milk of dairy cows by its highly reputable manufacturer based in Queensland, Australia.
However, lately, we found that although the colour and aroma had now varied much, the taste seemed to be somewhat different. Therefore, we investigated this matter and concluded the following matters:
• Its manufacturer Butter Producers’ Co-operative Federation Ltd (BPCF) addressed as No. 489, Kingsford Smith Drive, Hamilton, Brisbane, Australia had ceased operations in September 2006 and was no longer listed in the website of Australian trade authority being http://www.austrade .gov.au/. In fact the satellite picture as the website http://maps. google.com shows that the following site is vacant land.
• Printed on the tin is that the said product is manufactured from milkfat of dairy cows of Australia and in even smaller and rather unclear script, it is mentioned that its manufacturer is Q.B.I. Packaging Sdn Bhd, No. 19, Lorong Keluli 1C, Kawasan Perindustrian Bukit Raja Selatan, 41050 Shah Alam, Selangor DE., Malaysia and that the said product is manufactured under license from QBB (Pte.) Ltd., Singapore.
• QBB Pte Ltd.., Singapore was originally the sole agent for “QBB” Ghee for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei and it is not clear whether at the time when BPCF ceased operations in 2006, the “QBB” trademark rights were transferred from BPCF to QBB Ptd Ltd., Singapore. We suspect that Q.B.I. Packaging Sdn Bhd and QBB Ptd Ltd., Singapore are together carrying an act of piracy i.e. producing and selling a product whose legitimate manufacturing and sales rights were not transferred to them by its original manufacturer BPCF who was since wound up.
• The report of an analysis conducted by a reputable food technology laboratory in Australia on the contents of a 2-lb tin of this product, where the said tin was taken from Malaysia to Australia by one of our group members, mentions the following:-
“This product constitutes of decolorized and deodorized lard (pig fat) in semi-solid state with permitted additives giving the product color, flavor and aroma similar to that of pure ghee color, flavor and aroma.” (Original report is with the sender of this letter).
Therefore, our consumer group had to boycott the use of this product as:-
a) Our muslim members cannot use this product as it is haram by religion
b) Our Hindu and Sikh members cannot use this product for burning of ghee lamps, religious functions or for preparing sweetmeats as places of worship which forbid the use of any animal oil/animal fat.
c) Our vegetarian friends who only consume vegetarian diet cannot consume the said product.
We believe that the “QBB Ghee” sold in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei ever since BPCF closed down, is a product which is violating the related laws on the principle of “misrepresentation of label”. Therefore we hope that your goodself will take the appropriate action to stop the sale of this product.
Thanking you.
